Mechanical ... stage 1

Biological ... stage 2

   Filtration of solids is accomplished by a fine
   foam material prior to the water entering
   the biological media.
   The foam pad is easily removed and washed
   with a hose.

   Coarse woven mats provide a biological
   media with the following characteristics:
   a. high surface area to volume ratio
        (192 sq.ft. / cu.ft.)
   b. large open areas between fibers that
        minimize clogging and channelization
   c. easy removal for cleaning.
